FAQ
How do I pay?
The classes are based on a 'pay as you go' system - you only pay for the classes you attend. A small fee is required to cover costs of running the club.
What do I need to bring?
To start: Normal gym kit and sensible gym shoes. Preferably white or black t-shirt/vest, black jogging bottoms and martial art shoes.
Regular attendees: You will be able to purchase correct team clothing, footwear and pads etc.
How old do you have to be?
Classes cater for ages 16 and above. Unfortunately we don't hold classes for children.
Are there any additional costs?
If you attend regularly you will need to pay a small annual fee for your licence, which will allow you to grade and compete.
Do you hold gradings?/How can I progress?
We hold regular gradings so that students can progress within the class. There is a small charge for gradings which will cover the cost of the class plus your belt and certificates etc.
Do you hold beginner classes?
Both our classes cater for all levels, beginners to advanced.
What time should I arrive?
Aim to arrive by 7.45pm so that the class can start promptly @ 8pm.
Can I enter any competitions?
We aim to enter as many competitions as possible throughout the year. You will be able to compete if you hold a valid licence and we feel you are ready and able.
Where can I park?
There is a multi-storey car park opposite the club.
Do I have to register with the club before joining the classes?
No, you can arrive at any one of our classes and begin straight away. All we ask is that you arrive 15min before so we can have a quick chat before class starts to find out more about you, if you have any previous Martial Art experience etc and also to give you a brief description of how the class is run.
Do you sell equipment at the classes?
Yes, we can supply all the equipment you should need, however it is strictly on a pay when you order basis. The goods will not be ordered until payment has been received.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to pop down to the club on any training night and we will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
